Best Books in 2016

2016 was a great book year for me. I read 67 books out which means I surpassed my challenge of 50 books. I read some amazing books this year in lots of different genres and I can’t wait to read loads more fantastic books this year. There are so many amazing books coming out in 2017 and I can’t wait to read them but before that I thought I’d share some of my favourite books that I read in 2016!

In no particular order…

No Turning Back by Tracy Buchanan is one of the best thrillers I read last year, It is written so beautifully and the plot is carefully structured to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Me Before You is hands down one of the most emotional books I’ve ever read and it has definitely stayed with me throughout the year. Oh and how could I forget the movie of this fantastic book.

Did I Mention I Miss You by Estelle Maskame I waited so long for this book to be released after it was pushed back and it was SO worth the wait! Estelle is such an amazing writer and I can’t wait to read her next book!

My Map Of You by Isabelle Broom I loved Isabelle’s debut novel, the setting was such an amazing part of this book it just made me want to go to hop on a plane.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard I honestly don’t know how it took me so long to read the first book in this fantastic series! It had elements of the selection series which made it even more amazing!

All About The Hype by Paige Toon This was an amazing end to the series! I’m so sad to see Jessie & Co. go but hopefully Paige Toon may bring them back. I’m really gonna miss the rockstar world with the Jeffersons.

Chasing Truth by Julie Cross this is going to be an amazing series. Chasing Truth is story with so many secrets and lots of tension.

Asking For It by Louise O’Neill is such an important book that everyone must read. Louise O’Neill writes honestly and Asking for it is a perfect example.

Paper Butterflies by Lisa Heathfield This is another book that will make you incredibly emotional. I loved this book so much and I related to it so much!

Throne Of Glass by Sarah J. Mass I’m so glad I started this series! The hype around this series is well and truly deserved. I love everything about this book especially the song female character!

Wing Jones by Katherine Webber This isn’t officially out till the 5th Jan but it is definitely a must read and going to be one of the best releases in 2017.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier hands down is my favourite classic that I read last year not that I read many but this was an amazing novel with romance and secrecy and just lots of fantasticness

I absolutely loved Me Before You! I thought I was really late to the party by reading it in 2016 but it seems a lot of people did!
Also congratulations on reading 67 books! That really is impressive!

Definitely gonna take on some of these recommendations as books to read in 2017! Great list and 67 books is seriously impressive! I’ve set my Goodreads Reading Challenge to 30 books this year but hopefully will find time to exceed it!

Would love for you to check out my blog too!
