Debut novel about a mixed-race family hit by tragedy in 90s Atlanta from a talented young writer. For fans of David Levithan, Jandy Nelson and Rainbow Rowell: a sweeping story about love and family from an exceptional new voice in YA. With a grandmother from China and another from Ghana, fifteen-year-old Wing Jones is often caught between worlds. But when tragedy strikes, Wing discovers a talent for running she never knew she had. Wing’s speed could bring her family everything it needs. It could also stop Wing getting the one thing she wants.

My Thoughts

Firstly how beautiful is this cover! Like WOW!! Secondly check out an Interview I did with Katie as part of my blogmas here

Wing Jones is a debut novel by the wonderful Katherine Webber about the difficulties of being caught between 2 worlds and how it can help you find your talent.

Wing Jones is beyond words amazing! Before starting this book I was hesitant in reading it simply because it had so many great reviews and I know how silly it sounds but I really didn’t want to dislike Wing and I certainly didn’t. Wing Jones is exceptional! It is obvious that the topic of being caught between 2 worlds is a topic that Katherine cared about because it was written so beautifully.

I fell in love with so many of the characters most importantly the grandmothers,I absolutely loved them, I found them hilarious and I also loved Aaron of course!

This is a 2017 MUST read! I would highly recommend this debut and I can’t wait for the next Katherine Webber novel!
